Background

EPA began in Stockholm, Sweden in 2016 with the express goal of facilitating the discovery and expansion of the European competitive pike fishing scene by assessing and promoting responsible competitions and helping participants to travel and compete abroad.

The founders have a combined 17 years of experience in the sportfishing industry with 12 years spent arranging competitive pike fishing competitions.

By establishing an entity in the European pike fishing scene we want to help fishermen find and participate in competitions abroad, discover new waters and meet new people while helping competitions reach new markets.

In our book that is a clear win-win.

Mission statement and vision

We aim to become a junction for pike fishermen and competitions, expanding competitive pike fishing throughout Europe. With local ambassadors we are able to expose new competitions to a pan-European pike fishing area and help participants travel abroad to discover, enjoy and compete on new fishing scenes.

We operate under the long term goal of streamlining competition regulations, security measures and responsible practices towards fisherman, catch and environment.

Through our assessment process we only provide exposure to the competitions that meet the EPA standards and do not allow catch-n-kill, under-insured participants/competitions or any type of paperless arrangements. Read the full EPA standards guidelines.

In our book that is another clear win-win.

Ambassadors

Our ambassadors will assist participants from their region in answering questions concerning the practical arrangement such as travel and accomodations when participating in an associated competition in a foreign country.

EPA will help participants enjoy a great experience spending less time with the practical arrangement and more time fishing, ex: international teams who wish to compete in Sweden or vice versa.

Sportfish Masters, the official Swedish championship with 25 qualifying rounds, 2000+ annual participants, live broadcasted final and international participants from Germany, Finland and USA is the first associated competition.
For international participants, any questions you have regarding participation will be answered by your local ambassador or directly by the competition organizer, Sportfish Masters Sweden AB

Additionally, the ambassadors answers questions concerning the assessment process for any new competitions that wish to join EPA and will help the organisation discover new competitions in their respective regions.

If you own/organize a competition, contact your local ambassador or the main office now to start the association assessment process and become a EPA approved and supported competition.
